Guys,

I've had some responses to the 'after action reports' now on the web site. There has been questions asked as to why certain 'actions' were not included for a certain month. I have copied what I was sent and received from others. I know these action reports are not complete, I read each one before I started this project.

The one I actually looked for was the incident with LARRY MAXAM of Delta Company and Lt. VICTOR WESTPHALL and Capt ROBERT HARRIS of Bravo Company. The information was very light on Lt. Westphall and Capt Harris and no mention of Cpl Maxam.

These reports brought back a lot of memories of 1968 from which I was a part and I could have given a lot of information on some, but I felt it was best to let everyone see what was reported and not reported through the battalion. If any of you would like to add anything to the reports please feel free to send them to me and I'll include it in the reports.

Last month I mentioned that ERVIN LOVE, Delta/Charlie Companies 66/67 had written a story of his tour of duty with the battalion. He writes his adventures as he remembered them. Since I received the article from Love I was contacted by another guy who was also with Delta Company at that time as the Bn CO's radio operator, he later received an officers commission and became an F-4 pilot. His name is ROY STAFFORD, better known as BLACK SHADOW. He also has submitted a personal story of himself and a friend, which I hope to run soon, along with a new page for the web site.

When you guys read each of these article I hope someone else would be willing to share their experiences. Each of these gives a very good incite into who, what and why we are, what we are today. A bunch of guys who shared an experience, learned and lived from what we got out of it and can only share with those who understand.

I'd also like to mention there is a retraction and an apology from me to anyone who may have felt offended at or with the words or statement included in the Sick Bay section of the newsletter as shown on the web site. There was no intent to cause any harm or grief to anyone who may have felt it was intended for or towards them or anyone else. Again the fault lies with me and no other person(s).

Guys, This is a urgent message to everyone on the 1/4 network. Someone is pushing a very bad virus, I've received this virus more than twenty times this past week. I was out of town yesterday and I received it six times last night and yesterday. The last reception was this morning which prompted this notice. I know most of you wouldn't open mail if you don't know or recognize the person sending it. Well the one I received this morning had my name attached to it as the sender. Fellas I don't send attachments to anyone. Again I don't send attachments to anyone. And because it has my name attached you may feel that this is an okay attachment and open it anyway. So I'm letting you know that this virus is not mine and it's not being sent out by me or from me. If you receive mail from me with an attachment and Re: Hi, WELCOME TO MY HOMETOWN , delete it immediately. The virus is W32.Klez.gen@mm If there are any questions feel free to contact me. Just remember if I was pushing this virus, no way would it be sent to me on my own computer when I was the culprit. Take care guys and let's see if we can trace this thing down and get rid of it.

PS. Gentlemen as I'm writing this I've received two more messages with this virus. The people on this are; postmaster - undeliverable mail--"the garden of Eden" and someone by the name of taylorw - (navigator.appName I have no idea who these people are and they are not in or on any address book I have. The last time I received this many viruses I deleted my entire address book. Since I deal with you guys and I do what I can to protect you from this type of thing, I make sure my computer is kept clean. I run virus scans more than twelve times a day and twice while I'm asleep. I have Nortons viral scan and I keep it updated for all of the latest viruses that are put out. So I guarantee you this is not coming from me. So take care guys and let's see if we can't find the computer which is sending this out. Guys before I can even finish this message another one came in and it's titled; MOORE - Redirect(). This guy or his computer had to be found, before one of you get something with my name and open it.
