  1. I am trying to get Doc Dale Hanson , Alpha co, 1966 to come to our reunions, if any of you remember him please get in touch with me.

    1. Johnny – As you know, Dale and I talked a few years ago – I’ll try to get in touch with him again and hope he will join us – Kirk

  2. Guys,
The two new venues Thurman put on the agenda are for THURSDAY, THE FREE DAY. They are: “The Basketball Hall of Fame” and “The Springfield Armory”. The Armory would like to give us a Special Tour as we are Veterans. This is FREE as it is a National Historic Site. They need a two week notice to put it together.
“The BB Hall of Fame” is giving us a discount on tickets. $13. for Veterans. It is usually $26. $8. for Children, if there are any aboard.
I need to get a head count of interested people, so I can plan. Therefore, send me an e-mail to that effect. We can work out the Transportation. Springfield is not far from Sturbridge.

  3. One more item. During the time of our Re-Union, “The Traveling Wall” will be in West Springfield. Once again, I would like a show of “hands”, so to speak, of people who would like to visit THAT event. It is available 24/7 with a Guard Posted, so we can access it at anytime, should anyone need to go there.

  4. And yet ANOTHER Up-Date! The local Vet Center Outreach Van will be ON-SITE in Sturbridge 17 August, for anyone who is having problems or has questions about claims and Benefits. The rest of the time, they will be at the above mentioned “Traveling Wall”. So if you check in early, i.e., 17 August, you can take advantage of this feature which will be a first for our Re-Union. And it doesn’t matter which State you are from. They are National, with Centers in every State and can get you connected.

  5. Reunion Update –

  6. Done deal, Gunny. Got it all planned; and you are gonna’ LOVE it. Are you driving or flying?

  7. If anyone reading this sent your Life Membership info to me including dues recently to 706 Harmon Urbana, Il please contact me at; khauser@illinois.edu – there was a problem on my part, not yours – Semper Fi, Kirk Hauser

  8. Thurm,

I’m so caught up on the many different dues I pay, I’m unable to real if I’m up to date with dues. Can you help refresh my memory ?

    Mike

  9. Folks have been asking about the need for jackets and such; I’m still in a tee shirt and shorts in November, but many of you are coming from warmer climes and may not be as adaptable as I. My wife says to bring a LIGHT jacket, as the evenings can be cool from time to time in August. Also, BRING RAIN GEAR! This is New England, and if you don’t like the weather, you just have to wait a minute or so and it will change; haven’t had a lot of rain this year, so August might try to catch up. Nothing will be cancelled. Anyway, we know all about Operating in the rain, don’t we boys?

  10. Doc,
We would love to tour the Armory and also visit the wall. We will be arriving on the 16th, see you soon.

    1. I’m sure we will all be thinking of you while you have to endure your hip displacement. The best of luck Tim !

  11. We’ll miss you, but get the surgery when you can, and enjoy a full recovery. Maybe we’ll see you next year in Indiana?

  12. “Doc”
What a great reunion it was! I look forward to next year’s event. It’s my opinion, (for whatever it’s worth) there is always going to be some rough edges to these kind of events and not everyone can be pleased with how it all went, but for me, it was all about meeting new people, and old friends once again. For me, I can’t say thanks enough for all the work you personally have put into the reunion at Sturbridge. It will be memorable in my personal book.

    1. Mike,
It was great seeing you again. I’m glad we got a chance to spend some time together, and I’m glad you enjoyed the Re-Union. Stay well and we’ll see you next year.
