  4. I had come to reunions earlier at San Diago and again Washington DC. Other then that no marines from the association went out of the way to talk to the marines that served with me that came with me.so we stopped coming. Larry Koepp served with us but not many others. I am close to being the highest decorated with Silver star and three Purple Hearts. May try again. I have more friends with the 3rd marine division association so I go their every year. You can look up my citation on the computer .Just retired from the va and sc for multiple conditions including bladder cancer from drinking water Camp Lejuene. Vincent matthews.on the silver star site they spell Mathews, their mistake. B 1-4 November 66-medical November 22 1967. Citation October 27,1967

  5. Does anyone remember Kurt Mueller? He was my brother and was KIA April 26th 1968. I was 12 years old when Kurt was killed and i remember the day we were informed like it was yesterday. I would love to talk to someone that new him in Vietnam. Feel free to contact me if you would like. I’m married to a Vietnam veteran and he has encouraged me to email you all. Thank you for your time

    1. Hi Cindy

I was Kurts squad leader. The day he was killed I did not go out on patrol with my platoon. Another member of my squad took over for me. However, after they got hit I went out with the reinforcements. Almost got it myself. I was lucky. I don’t remember a lot about Kurt. I only have one picture of him when we were at Con Thien. I would be happy to talk to you. My email address is keaton0202@gmail.com.
