  1. The upcoming reunion will be the first I have ever attended as a Marine. I spent 2 years with the 4th Marines at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii from October 1956 to October 1958. When I returned back to the states (Hawaii was not yet a state) the Marine Corps sent me to college and I spent the next 5 years at 100 Harrison Street, San Francisco while I went to college at Golden Gate University. I’m sorry but I never went to Vietnam. I had a top secret clearance in my job as a Marine and the Marine Corps would not let me go to Vietnam. I put in for combat duty 3 times and was always turned down.

While I was with the 1st Battalion I went from Private (E-1) Corporal (E-3). When I departed Hawaii for Camp Pendleton I was promoted to Sgt (E-4) and while on 60 day leave my rank was changed from Sgt (E-4) to ActSgt (E-4). Everyone knows that was on January 1st 1959.

Now you know my history as a first timer In the upcoming reunion. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you that followed me.

  2. It has come to past that our 2018 reunion at Park City, Utah is now over. I continued on to another reunion and while there I received notice that one of my family members had passed away. So instead of going home I went to St Louis for a funeral. I arrived home yesterday (September 30th, 2018).
This was my first reunion with this group and I was pleasantly surprised like Thurman said I would be.

My wife (Mary Lou) would like to thank all the ladies for taking her under their wing and for the beautiful flowers and little gifts she received from them for our anniversary (September 10th) and her birthday (September 12th). We are already making plans for our next reunion in Alaska next September.
