Air Support/Defense

1. Air Support.  There was a substantial increase in the requirements of the Battalion for air Support, both fixed wing and rotary wing, for the month of September.  This increased support effort was the result of the Battalion engaging in extensive operations against the enemy in the mountainous area west of Dong Ha in Quang Tri Province.  The air support received by the Battalion contributed greatly to the successful outcome of the Battalion’s operations against the enemy during September.
