Logistics
- Significant Events.
- During the month of September, the Battalion continued operation Prairie.
- Several requests for emergency resupply were initiated with good to outstanding results.
- Resupply averaged approximately 10 to 12 tons per day.
- Supply
- Class I – Over 48,000 MCIs issued. Fruit juice and fresh fruit were also provided when available. One issue of steak and one issue of fried chicken were provided to all personnel. Water was provided on the of gallons/man day. Sundries packs were issued as appropriate.
- Class II – Clothing, (except boots) and repairs and repair parts provided with excellent lead-time requirements.
- Class III – Approximately 1,300 gallons of Diesel provided for attached tanks.
- Class IV – Limited quantities of class IV were provided during the reporting period. (50,000 sandbags, 140 rolls concertina).
- Class V – B/A’s and DOA’s were maintained as appropriate (see Paragraph E.2., below).
- Transportation. Helicopter resupply, Med Evacs and recons have been provided as requested.
- Sanitation. Elements of the Battalion located at Dong Ha Have sanitation problems due to low area and cramped facilities provided.
