Fire Support

  1. During the first week of March, the Battalion’s FO teams manned the observation towers at C-2 and C-2 Bridge.  On 9 March, the FO teams completed the take over of the three observation posts at A-4.  On 23 March, an FO team took over the observation tower at C-2 Bridge.  Troops from the Rifle Companies continued to assist in standing the tower watch.
  2. A new Defensive Fire Support Plan was initiated when the Battalion assumed the defense of A-4, Yankee Station and C-2 Bridge.
  3. A number of fires were brought to bear on Counter Battery, Intelligence Targets, observed enemy movement and suspected enemy positions.  The following missions were fired in support of the Battalion during the reporting period.

  9. The FO teams had a total of 13 confirmed kills and 11 secondary explosions on missions fired during the reporting period.
