Personnel and Administration
- General. During the reporting period, the Battalion’s administration section was located at Dong Ha. At the close of the reporting period, each rifle company averaged 38 men below manning level, and 124 were in a non-effective status. This Battalion is currently 8 officers below M/L in the 0302 MOS and still has a critical shortage of an 0402.

- Morale. Morale continued to be high. Out-of-country R&R quotas utilized for the month were: Hawaii – 18, Bangkok – 17, Hong Kong – 9, Taipei – 9, Sydney –10, Tokyo – 6, Okinawa – 4, Kuala Lumpur – 3, Singapore – 3. For In-Country R&R a total of 20 quotas were used.
- During the month 73 Lance Corporals were promoted to Corporal, 131 Privates First Class were promoted to Lance Corporal and 6 Privates were promoted to Privates First Class. 13 Corporals were promoted to Sergeant and two Corporals were meritoriously promoted to Sergeant.
