Communications

  1. Message Center.  Provides the use of shackle, authentication, and brevity codes for the Command and attachments.  In addition, classified and non-classified message handling is exercised.
  2. Radio.  The radio section continues to supply units attached to this Command the usage of batteries and loan of spare radio equipment.
  3. Covered Circuit.  The KY-8 Circuit continues to give high performance.  This Command had received the three KY-8’s back from repair and are in operation at this time.
  4. Wire.  Wire-telephone service is continuing to improve its services to all staff section and units attached to this command.
  5. Electronic Repair.  Provides the repair service for this Command and all units attached as required.
  6. Maintenance Section.  The maintenance for electrical lighting is continuing to improve as the shortage of wire is lessened.
  7. Radio Relay.  This service continues to improve.  Downage generally caused by generator failure.
  8. Critical Shortage.  A shortage still exists in (An/PRC-25) spare module replacements.  The most critical module shortage is A-10.
  9. Equipment Repaired.  During the month of May the following equipment has been repaired (first and second echelon):

  18. Equipment
  19. Equipment Evacuated.  During the month the following equipment was evacuated for maintenance.
  20. RT-505 receiver transmitter – 5
  21. H-139 radio handset – 3
  22. NOD (Night Observation Device) – 1
  23. End items.  The following radio equipment is on order
  24. RT-505 receiver transmitter – 8
  25. AN/PRC-25 radios – 5
