Medical and Dental Affairs
- The total number of visits to the Battalion Aid Station during the month of July was 763.
- Prevalent medical entities encountered were:
- Gastroenteritis; Diarrhea – 134
- Acute Respiratory Infections – 7
- Other Respiratory Infections – 22
- Malaria – 22
- FUO – 55
- Dermatological Conditions – 10
- Neuropsychiatry Treatment – 5
- Gonococcus Infections – 5
- All suspected and confirmed cases of venereal disease were given a Serological Test for Syphilis in accordance with NAVMED 22-18 and the results entered in the individual’s health record.
- The total number of patients referred to Delta Medical Company, 3rd Medical Bn., 3rd Marine Division (Rein) FMF were 42.
- Malaria prophylaxis was maintained by Chloraquine Primaquine tablets weekly and Dapsone tablets daily.
- A weekly sanitation inspection was held in Dong Ha and LZ Stud by a qualified corpsman.
- During the month of July there were two Battalion ‘Aid Stations. The Forward BAS was at LZ Stud and the rear BAS was at Dong Ha.
