Communications

1. Message Center.  This section provides the shackle sheets and Brevity Codes for the Command and attachments.  Classified and Non-Classified Message handling is exercised.  A Forward Message Center is operating at Vandegrift Combat Base.
2. Radio.  The radio section continues its mission of maintaining communications with all elements thru the use of radio relay site at Hill 950 manned by two radio personnel.  Spare parts and batteries are supplied to attached units when required.
3. Covered Circuit.  The KY-8 circuit had been inoperable during the month of November.  The KY-38 and PRC-77 circuit has been used as required.
4. Wire.  The wire section is maintaining two switchboards forward and one in the Battalion rear.  The switchboards are maintained wherever the situation requires their use.
5. Electronic Repair.  The electronics repair section continues to provide second echelon repair in support of the Command and attached units while in a deployed or static positions.
6. Radio Relay.  Radio Relay was provided throughout the month and is operating in a satisfactory manner.
7. Critical Shortages.  A shortage of spare parts for radio set AN/PRC-25 still exists.  Most critical at this time is module A-9/A-10.
8. Equipment Repairs.  During the month of November, the following equipment was repaired:
