  6. Awards.  During the reporting period 2 Bronze Stars, 1 Navy Comm, 0 Navy Achievement, 9 Purple Hearts and 16 Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry were presented.  The following type awards were processed recommending approval:

  45. Religious Services
  46. Spiritual coverage was given to the Battalion during the month of February in the field and at our rears.
  47. A total of 20 Protestant Services were conducted by the Battalion Chaplain with an attendance of 632 and 162 taking communion.
  48. Ten Roman Catholic Masses were given by Chaplain Carr (4th Marines) with an attendance of 229.
  49. Two Memorial Services were conducted by the Battalion Chaplain with 78 attending.
  50. Six Protestant Services were given to other units in Vandegrift area by the Battalion Chaplain.
  51. Three Med-Cap programs were made to the Villages near Ca Lu giving Medical and Dental Aid.
  52. Visits were made to both hospital ships, NSA, Alpha and Bravo Med, ministering to the Battalion troops.
  53. Various counseling cases, instructions, letters to families and notifying servicemen took place during the month.
