Logistics

  1. Supply
  2. Class 1.  All Class I was drawn at Vandegrift Combat Base in support of operations.  The Battalion Mess Hall served ‘R’ rations three times daily at Vandegrift Combat Base.
  3. Class II.  Battalion Supply operated at Quang Tri with FLSG/Bravo as the contact for service and supply.  Class II organic issue points remain at Vandegrift to our time in transfer of cargo from Quang Tri to Vandegrift.  Shortages in the following items were experienced during this period.
  4. nozzles, covers (water buffalo)
  5. flak jackets
  6. M-16 magazines and cleaning rods
  7. Coat, utility
  8. Class III.   Class III was adequate at Vandegrift.
  9. Class IV.  Class IV was adequate at Vandegrift.
  10. Class V.   Class V was adequate at Vandegrift.
  11. Transportation
  12. Organic.  During this month the M-151A1, and the M-37B1 were used for resupply and administrative runs at Vandegrift and Quang Tri Combat Bases.
  13. Support.  Division Motor Transport furnished transportation for delivery of Class II supplies and personnel from Quang Tri to Vandegrift.  Third Motor Transport Battalion supported the Battalion on a daily basis.
  14. Engineer Support Teams provided the Battalion with demolition capabilities.
