Enemy Activity 

1.                  Route #1 was dug up vic BT 452008. 

2.                  Three (3) rounds incoming vic BT 447079 and direction from which rounds came is unknown.  240830H. 

3.                  Three VCS apprehended vic BT 447079. 

a.     Turned into district headquarters. 

1.      No ID cards. 

4.                  Tunnels found in vic BT 448080 and 448072. 

a.     Tunnels were interconnected holes in the ground or side of hill.  General opening of 4×3 feet.  Approx 12ft deep with connecting tunnels approx 5 ft under surface.  Ladders found near by to climb down into holes. 

5.                  Punji stakes, barbed wire and man traps vic BT 448080, BT 449072, BT 446083, BT 452072. 

a.     Many punji stakes were newly out. 

6.                  Tunnels and around village vic BT 457067. 

7.                  Four (4) rounds incoming vic village BT 452059. 

8.                  Most paddies South of stream vic BT 460061 to BT 457061 are difficult to move through.  Water and mud 6” to 30” deep.  Stream from 3’ to 10’ deep.  One 4’ bridge vic BT 459054 is only access to village other than paddy crossing. 

9.                  Received one (1) round incoming 60mm (?) mortar.  Mortar appeared to come from vic Hill 51 (BT 447064). 

10.             Heavy volume of fire vic BT 455063 to BT 455068 (wood line). 

11.             Two (2) VCS came out village vic BT 453072. 

a.     Turned into District Headquarters. 

12.             One (1) small boy WIA. 

a.     Turned into BAS and transferred to ‘B’ Med. 

13.             Village at BT 455072 burned by Arty.  Small arms were exploding during the fire in the village.
