(1)               4th Marines continue defense of its TAOR.

(2)               Artillery Bn Group provides fire support as requested.

(3)               FMAW provides air support as requested.

(4)               Coastal Defense Fleet 15 provides support as requested.

(5)               2nd Plat, Co A, 1st AmTrac Bn provides logistical support as requested.

(1)               One PF squad, Ky Ha.

(2)               One 81mm section, H&S Company, 1st Battalion.

(3)               One 106mm section, H&S Company, 1st Battalion.

(4)               One squad engineer, Company B, 3rd Engr Bn.

  1. Mission.  Company C (-)(rein) commencing at H-Hour on D-Day moves to objective area, Hoa Xuan Island, lands and conducts Search and Clear operations along the village complex of Hoa Xuan (1).
  2. Execution.
  3. Concept of Operation.

(1)               Commencing on D-day one Platoon, Company C commenced movement by Coastal Defense Fleet 15 to vicinity (BT 407155) debarks and establishes a blocking position vicinity (BT 415158).

(2)               Company C (-) (rein) on D-Day moves by LVT to vicinity (BT 438163) debarks and conducts a Search, Clear and Destroy Operation along the Hoa Xuan (1) Village complex (east-west grid line 16).

(3)               Upon link up with blocking elements be prepared to harbor for the night vicinity (BT 426158) or withdraw on order.

(4)               Operation Overlay.  Annex A.

  1. 81mm Mortar Platoon.  Attach one section to Company C (-) (rein).
  2. 3rd Plat (rein), Co A, 1st AmTrac Bn.  Place two LVTP-5’s OpCon to Company C (-) (rein).
  3. 106mm RR Platoon.  Attach one section to Company C (-) (rein).
  4. Company B, 3rd Engineer Battalion.  Attach one Engineer Squad to Company C (-) (rein).
  5. Coordinating instructions.

(1)               Annex (Operation Overlay).

(2)               Time of departure from splash point: to be announced.

(3)               D-Day: to be announced.

(4)               H-Hour: to be announced.

(5)               Rules of Engagement: No change.

(6)               Sit Reps every thirty (30) minutes after departure.

(7)               Tentative retraction time: to be announced.  Be prepared on order to extend operations one day.

(8)               Distribute psychological operation leaflets during the operation along the axis of advance.

(9)               Civil Affairs:  Company Corpsmen administer Med Cap to local people as required.

(10)          Humane treatment of VCS/VC captured in accordance with existing directives.

(11)          Attachments Effective:  to be announced.

(12)          This order effective for planning upon receipt, and execution on order.

  3. Resupply items preloaded and remained with the company.
  4. Command and Communication/Electronics.
  5. Reference (b).
  6. Battalion Communications Officer provide two (2) PRC-25’s, if available.
  7. Battalion Communications Officer establish a radio relay on Hill 44.
  8. Report CP locations when established and hourly thereafter.
  9. Activate Company/Battalion Tactical Communications upon departure from splash point.
