G. Operations

1. The Battalion participated in one Battalion (-) operation in which the radio set AN/PRC-25 was used. Operating at extended ranges and using both AN/PRC-25’s and AN/PRC-10’s on the same nets, communications were constant and reliable. The problem of periodically retuning the AN/PRC-10 to the AN/PRC-25 was virtually nonexistent due in part to critical shop alignment of the AN/PRC-10’s prior to the operation.

2. A communications system to support the coordination of the mutual defensive effort of the tenant units on the Ky Ha Peninsula was installed. Peninsula Defense Coordination Bunker. The system consists of hot lines from the bunker to each of the tenant units and trunk lines to the Battalion and Regimental switchboards. The wire system is backed up by a VHF radio net.
