- No casualties as the result of hostile fire, mine detonations or booby traps were incurred during this period.
- One accidental discharge from a .45 caliber pistol occurred of 6 December 1966 resulting in a perforating gunshot wound of the right foot with a chip fracture of the first metacarpal. Following first aid treatment, the patient, Corporal T. L. COCHRAN, 2104128, USMC was evacuated to ‘A’ Medical Company.
- There were 28 dental consults during this period.
- The principal activity of this period not directly related to the care of the sick was the inventorying, refurbishing and packing of equipment in preparation for embarkation to Okinawa.
- On 14 December 1966, the Medical Department ceased operations in the Phu Bai enclave. Medical coverage from 14 December to 15 December was supplied by the Medical Department of 2nd Battalion 9th Marine Regiment.
