Air Support

  1. Fixed Wing Support.
  2. ALO controlled three flights of fixed wing at XD 9447.  BDA one secondary explosion.
  3. AO support was adequate, utilized for visual reconnaissance, artillery spotters and fixed wing control.  Eight flights of fixed wing were controlled by AO’s resulting in two secondary explosions and one KBA.  No further BDA was obtainable.
  4. TPQ’s.  Seventy-one TPQ missions were requested, 8 were hit.
  5. Flare ship.  One flare ship was used for a period of two hours.
  6. Helicopter Support.
  7. Troop lifts.  Four Battalion size, four Company size and five platoon size troop lifts were conducted.
  8. Med-evacs.  Twenty-one med-evac flights were conducted during the reporting period.
  9. Resupply.  Resupply was received daily during the twenty-one days the Battalion spent in the field.
  10. Helicopter Close Air Support.  Three flights of Huey gunships were used.
  11. C&C Flights.  Seven visual reconnaissance flights were provided during the reporting period.
