Air Support
- Fixed Wing Support.
- Close Air Support. Two flights of F4B’s and two flight of A4E’s were controlled by Air Observers in support of Operation SCOTLAND TROUSDALE NORTH.
- Aerial Observers. In addition to controlling Close Air Support missions, aerial observers were utilized on eleven occasions for area surveillance missions.
- TPQ’s. Thirty-one TPQ’s were requested during the month and thirteen were hit.
- Helicopter Support.
- Troop Lifts. Twelve Ch-46’s was utilized for a Battalion size troop lift on 17 September 1968. Three CH-46’s was utilized for a Company size troop lift on 26 September 1968.
- Med-evacs.
- Thirty emergency med-evacs – 30 minutes average
- Eighty-nine priority med-evacs – 55 minutes average
- Thirty-four routine med-evacs – 3 hours average
- C&C Flights. Six helicopters were used for visual reconnaissance missions in preparation for Operation SCOTLAND TROUSDALE NORTH. C&C helicopters were used on three additional occasions for visual reconnaissance missions.
