  1. Mission.  To provide Fire Support for the defense of Vandegrift Combat Base and for operations south and east of Ca Lu.
  2. Execution
  3. Concept of Artillery Employment.

(1)               Golf Battery 3/12 will move to Ca Lu and provide support.

(2)               175mm and 8-inch Guns from the Rockpile will be supporting Vandegrift Combat Base and the Ca Lu operation if needed.

(3)               175mm and 8-inch Guns on the perimeter of Vandegrift Combat Base will provide direct fire.

  1. Coordinating Instructions.

(1)               All fire missions must go to 3/12 Marines FDC via 1/4 FSCC.

(2)               60mm mortar missions must be cleared through 1/4 FSCC.  This pertains only to Vandegrift Combat Base.

(3)               Counter-mortar.  There are three Counter-Mortar Plans in effect for the AO: Leopard, Tiger and Shrew.

(4)               No fire zone.  (See Annex D, Operation Overlay)

(5)               Fire missions will be fired by Batteries as assigned by the FDC, 3/12.

  1. Administration and Logistics
  2. All Administrative and Logistical Support will be provided by 3/12.
  3. Command and Communications/Electronics
  4. All Forward Observers will be on Frequency 39.95.
  5. Regimental FSCC is final clearing agency for all missions.
  6. Battalion FDC will be located in 1/4 COC at VCB.
