Communications

  1. Message Center.   Provided the use of shackles, authentication and brevity codes for the Command and Attachments in addition to Classified and Non-Classified Message handling.
  2. Radio.  The radio section supported units attached to this Command with batteries and serviceable radio equipment as required.
  3. Covered Circuit.  The KY-8 circuit continued to give high performance to this Command.  We have received the three KY-8’s back from repair and were on operational ready at the end of the month.
  4. Wire.  Wire telephone service continued to improve.
  5. Electronic Repair.  Provided the repair services for this Command and all the units attached to this Command.
  6. Maintenance Section.  The maintenance for electrical lighting continued to improve as the shortage of wire diminished.
  7. Radio Relay.  This service continued to improve.  Downage was generally caused by generator failure.
  8. Critical Shortage.  A shortage exists in AN/PRC-25 module replacements, A-10 being the most critical of all.
  9. Equipment Repaired.  During the month of June, the following equipment was repaired (first and second echelon):
