Communications\Electronics – July 1966

Communication/Electronics

  1. Status of Equipment

The Communication/electronics equipment of the Battalion remains in a reasonably high state of combat readiness.  Due to the continuing lack of replacement and spare parts such as the handset H-33, the antennae AT-271 and 272, silver zinc monoblocks and electrolyte and electronic tube 5678, the desired level of readiness has not been maintained.

  1. Operations and Training

During the month a new trunk line from the Company C switchboard to the new CAC-11 at Phu Loc was installed.  Training emphasis has been placed on radio operator proficiency and the techniques of laying field wire in the assault.
