Fire Support

During the month of April the Battalion operated in the Purple Martin Area of Operation.

Communications was a significant problem because of terrain configuration and was overcome by the use of a directional antenna.  Relays were put on Fire Support Base Russell and Fire Support Base Neville to enhance communication with the fFire Direction Center at Vandegrift Combat Base.

When this Battalion moved from the vicinity of Fire Support Base Argonne the Save-a-Plane clearances were returned to Regimental control.
