(1)               CG III MAF provides intelligence of the AOA, coordination with subordinate units, and requested logistical support.

(2)               CG 1st MAW provides CAS and heavy lift helicopter support as required.

(4)               CTG 115.1 will provide Market Time support as required.

(5)               Amphibious Ready Group (CTG 76.5) Provides transport, support.

  1. Mission.
  2. Commencing at H-hour on D-day land one rifle company in LVT’s over Beach Blue.
  3. Commencing at L-hour on D-day land rifle companies in Landing Zones Bluebird and Sparrow by helicopter.
  4. Land the 105mm Howitzer Battery by helicopter in Landing Zone Bluebird when the zone is secure.
  5. Land the 107mm Mortar battery by helicopter in Landing Zone Blue Bird when the zone is secure.
  6. Conduct search and destroy operations and seize Landing Force Objectives 1, 2 and 3.  On order continue the attack to seize Landing Force Objectives 4 and 5.
  7. Early on D-day move the tank platoon up the Cau Viet river by landing craft and land vicinity of Dong Ha.  Be prepared to move these units up Route 1 to vicinity of Gio Linh.
  8. Designate one rifle company as Landing Force Reserve, prepared to land by heliborne or surface means.
  9. Form Provisional Company for combat support and combat service support units after D-day.

(1)               Commencing at L-hour, D-day land by helicopter in Landing Zone Bluebird.  Conduct search and destroy operations.  Seize Landing Force Objective 2.

(2)               Provide one platoon as security for landing zone and 107mm Mortar Battery.

(3)               Be prepared to continue search and destroy operations and seize Objective 4 on order.

  1. Company B (rein)

(1)               When ordered on D-day land by helicopter in Landing Zone Sparrow.  Seize Objective 3.

(2)               Conduct search and destroy operations in vicinity of Objective 3.

(3)               Br prepared to continue search and destroy operations on order.

  1. Company C (rein)

(1)               Commencing at H-hour on D-day land by waterborne assault over Beach Blue.  Seize Landing Force Objective 1.

(2)               Be prepared to continue search and destroy operations on order.

(1)               On order on D-day land in Landing Zone Bluebird by helicopter.

(2)               Provide direct support to the BLT.

  1. Mortar Battery 3/12

(1)               On D-day on order land by helicopter in Landing Zone Bluebird.

(2)               Conduct reconnaissance from LZ Hawk 500-800 meters south of and parallel to the DMZ to Landing Zone Bluebird.

(1)               On order move up the Cau Viet River by landing craft to Dong Ha.  On landing move along Route 1 to the vicinity of Gio Linh.

(2)               Provide direct support to designated elements of the BLT.

(1)               On order organize the Company IAW Annex A.

(2)               Be prepared for conduct of operations anywhere within the AOA.

  1. BLT Reserve (Company D)

(1)               Provide 1 platoon (rein) as security for tank platoon.

(2)               Be prepared for employment anywhere within the Area Of Operations.
