- Morale continued to be high. This Battalion utilized 24 quotas for In-Country R&R. Out-of-Country R&R quotas utilized for the month were: Bangkok –15, Hawaii-19, Hong Kong-13, Kuala Lumpur-2, Manila-2, Penang-3, Singapore-3, Okinawa-4, Sydney-12, Taipei-12, Tokyo-7. During the month 44 Lance Corporal were promoted to Corporal, 5 Privates First Class were promoted to Lance Corporal and 9 Privates were promoted to Private First Class. Four Corporals were meritoriously promoted to Sergeant, two Privates First Class were meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal during the reporting period. One Staff Non-Commissioned Officer was selected for the Commission Program and was promoted to the rank of Second Lieutenant on 30 October.
