Training

  1. Training for the month of February for Squad, Platoon and Company size units was extensive, primarily because the Battalion was dispersed in static positions on Fire Support Bases and major Combat Bases throughout Northwestern I Corps.
  2. All replacements received indoctrination briefings in accordance with the Battalion SOP for replacement training.  Each replacement fired T/O weapon for familiarization.

  43. Nuclear, biological and chemical warfare training was conducted on an extensive basis during the month of February due to the fact that the Battalion Units were dispersed on fixed position Fire Bases and at VCB.  Training consisted of the Protective Mask, Detection of NBC agents, decontamination procedures for personnel and equipment.  In addition to unit training in NBC monitoring and decontamination teams were given individual training in appropriate procedures.
